Brenda Hernandez
DVM, Emergency & Critical Care
Dr. Hernandez is originally from a small town in central California. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from CSU Monterey Bay before pursuing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Midwestern University in Arizona.
Following her undergraduate degree, Dr. Hernandez completed a pre-veterinary externship in Chintsa, South Africa where she performed community outreach in townships by providing education on preventative medicine/wound care management, disease control in commercial farms, and game/wildlife capture and relocation.
During both her undergraduate and veterinary studies, she gained extensive experience as a veterinary technician in emergency hospitals, which fostered her passion for emergency medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Hernandez enjoys staying active at the gym, exploring various local coffee shops, and embarking on early morning hikes. She values quality time with her partner, Alex, and their two dogs, Koko and Uzi.
Dr. Hernandez is participating in a mentorship program here at 1st Pet Veterinary Center to advance her knowledge in Emergency Medicine.
