Amy Gassman
DVM, Emergency & Critical Care
Dr. Amy Gassman grew up on the Connecticut long island shoreline with her parents, twin sister and older sister. Amy and her sisters went on to pursue careers in the medical field. Her older sister is a family medicine human doctor in Texas and her twin sister is a general practice veterinarian in Massachusetts.
Dr. Gassman studied at the University of Vermont where she received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences. She then moved on to receive her DVM from Ross University and the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she moved to North Carolina and completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Gassman’s special interests are emergency medicine and critical care, soft tissue surgery, wound management and ultrasonography. She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Gassman moved here with her Carolina dog, Romo and a cat named Noda. She enjoys mountain and road biking, hiking, running, skiing and being outdoors.
